Baseball Recap: Zeigler-Royalton Gets the Win

Galatia/Thompsonville typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Zeigler-Royalton proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Bearcats by a score of 4-1. The Tornadoes haven't had any issues with the Bearcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Carson Hobbs tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over 4.2 innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Bradden Mays and Connor DeWeerdt did most of the damage at the plate: Mays went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs, while DeWeerdt went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Aidan Skropka, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Zeigler-Royalton's win bumped their record up to 22-9. As for Galatia/Thompsonville, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-7.

As of now, neither Zeigler-Royalton nor the Bearcats have any future games scheduled.
