Football Game Preview: Central Catholic Fighting Irish vs. Wapakoneta Redskins

The Central Catholic Fighting Irish will venture away from home to take on the Wapakoneta Redskins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Central Catholic comes in on four and Wapakoneta on 11.

Central Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-18 victory over Lexington. The Fighting Irish's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Wapakoneta's strategy against Shawnee on Friday. The Redskins blew past the Indians 41-16. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Redskins' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Indians are ranked 145th).

Wapakoneta's win came from a few key players Central Catholic will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Caleb Moyer, who threw for 182 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also rushed for 41 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Moyer is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: he's passed for at least three every time he's taken the field this season. Kaden Page was Moyer's top target, picking up 134 receiving yards and three scores.

Central Catholic's record now sits at 8-4. As for Wapakoneta, their record is now 11-0.
