Volleyball Recap: New Prairie Cougars vs. Penn Kingsmen
New Prairie lost against Penn back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cougars took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kingsmen. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Their offense was headlined by Makenzie Griffiths and Maggie Duszynski, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Faith Robbins and her seven assists.
Penn was led to victory by Montana Swartz and Carson Petty. Swartz had eight assists and three aces, while Petty had 11 assists. That's the most aces Swartz has posted over her last nine contests. Josie Garber also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
New Prairie's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Penn, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.
New Prairie has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Warsaw on the 30th. As for Penn, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Chesterton on the 30th.
