Soccer Game Preview: Bishop Walsh vs. New Life Christian

The Bishop Walsh Spartans will head out on the road to challenge New Life Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Walsh has given up an average of 3.5 goals per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bishop Walsh is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to seven goals on Monday, they were much more limited against Grace Academy on Tuesday. They came up short against the Knights, falling 5-1.

Meanwhile, New Life Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Calvary Christian Academy on Friday and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, New Life Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland soccer rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Calvary Christian Academy is ranked 16th).

Bishop Walsh dropped their record down to 4-7-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for New Life Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7-2.

Everything went Bishop Walsh's way against New Life Christian in their previous matchup back in August, as Bishop Walsh made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
