While Saint James put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Apollo. Saint James came out on top against Apollo by a score of 5-0. The win was nothing new for the Trojans as they're now sitting on five straight.
Not much got past Emily Needham, who gave up just three hits and racked up 12 Ks to keep Apollo off the board. Needham has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 27 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kaitlyn Hudson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Stanford, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Saint James hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Apollo struck out 12 times.
Saint James' victory bumped their record up to 29-5. As for Apollo, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Coming up, Saint James will take on LAMP in a tournament on Saturday. As for Apollo, they have already played their next contest, a 5-2 loss against Prattville Christian Academy on the 28th.
