There's no place like home for Denver West, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past the Jefferson Saints 3-2. The Cowboys haven't had any issues with the Saints recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Denver West who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-21, 22-25, 25-16, 24-26, 17-15.

Despite the defeat, Jefferson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Mariana Botello had 19 digs and two aces. Botello also set a new season-high mark in assists with 28. Another player making a difference was Destiny Medina, who had 14 digs.

Denver West's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Jefferson, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 13 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Denver West has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Montbello on the 16th. As for Jefferson, they will square off against Fort Lupton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
