Football Game Preview: Central Dragons vs. Central Cambria Red Devils + How To Watch

The Central Dragons are taking a road trip to take on the Central Cambria Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Central will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

While Central's victory against Penns Valley Area wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Dragons pulled ahead with a 26-25 photo finish over the Rams on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Rams: they've now won four in a row.

Carter Schenk went supernova, rushing for 126 yards and one score while picking up 7.4 yards per carry, and also picking up 53 receiving yards and one touchdown. Bentley Dickson did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 83 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Central Cambria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost to Forest Hills at home by a 21-7 margin. While losing is never fun, the Red Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Rangers are ranked 136th).

Central Cambria's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Central, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Central against Central Cambria in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, as the team secured a 41-10 win. Will the Dragons repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
