Volleyball Recap: Bartow Comes Up Short

If Bartow was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Haines City last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellow Jackets lost 3-0 to the Davenport Broncos on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Broncos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While Bartow had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-18, 25-21.

Bartow's loss dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Davenport, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Looking ahead, Bartow will square off against Frostproof at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Davenport, they will face off against Ridge Community at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
