Basketball Game Preview: Magoffin County Hornets vs. Phelps Hornets

We've got a battle between Hornets coming up. Magoffin County has now lost ten straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 3.

Last Thursday, Magoffin County came up short against East Ridge and fell 73-63.

Meanwhile, Phelps suffered their biggest loss since January 30, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 58-35 to Pike County Central. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Phelps' defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Magoffin County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-22.

Things could have been worse for Magoffin County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-56 loss to Phelps when the teams last played back in February. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Phelps' Tyler Weddington, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 20 boards.
