After a string of four wins, Saddleback's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to the La Quinta Aztecs 58-53. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Roadrunners this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-47 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Saddleback lost, don't look at Christopher Trotter. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 21 en route to 31 points and seven boards. That was a full 58.5% of Saddleback's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Angel Soberanis, who earned 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.

Saddleback's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-12. As for La Quinta, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saddleback will welcome Century at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Saddleback is facing Century at the right time seeing as Century is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for La Quinta, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bolsa Grande at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. La Quinta knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully Bolsa Grande likes a good challenge.
