Basketball Recap: Jones Takes a Loss

Jones played a tough game on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Flour Bluff Hornets, falling 68-47. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost four in a row.

Jones' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Flour Bluff, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Jones won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Victoria East at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans will be up against the Titans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 56 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Flour Bluff, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll challenge Vela at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
