Baseball Recap: Narragansett Takes a Loss

Narragansett fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against North Providence on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 on May 7th.

Jackson Hohl made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Narragansett: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-9 otherwise.

Narragansett has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for North Providence, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-6.

As of now, neither Narragansett nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
