Baseball Recap: Lake Brantley Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Lake Brantley suffered their closest defeat since February 18th on Friday. They fell just short of the Lyman Greyhounds by a score of 3-1. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Greyhounds earlier this season, when they won 7-2.

Lucas Ostolaza was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in February.

At the plate, Lake Brantley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tanner Morgan, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Lake Brantley's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5. As for Lyman, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.

Looking ahead, Lake Brantley will head out on the road to challenge Hagerty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hagerty will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Lake Brantley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lyman, they will be playing at home against Lake Mary at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last five games Lake Mary has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
