Softball Recap: Nokomis Comes Up Short

After flying high against Belfast on Tuesday, Nokomis came back down to earth. The Warriors fell just short of the Erskine Academy Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Thursday. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 11-5 to the Eagles when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Nokomis' loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Erskine Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Nokomis will challenge Maine Central Institute at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Erskine Academy, they will be playing at home against Waterville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.14 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
