Basketball Game Preview: Dixie County Bears vs. Lafayette Hornets

The Dixie County Bears will take on the Lafayette Hornets at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Dixie County is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Back in December of 2024, Dixie County came up short against Lafayette and fell 67-57.

Lafayette found their leader in sophomore Sophia Kendrick, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kendrick has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kiley Beach, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points.

Lafayette smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 19 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Dixie County now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Lafayette, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
