Basketball Game Preview: Christ Prep Academy Patriots vs. Wichita Defenders HomeSchool Defenders

The Christ Prep Academy Patriots will be taking part in a tournament against the Wichita Defenders HomeSchool Defenders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Christ Prep Academy beat Faith Christian Academy 43-32. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

It was another big night for Abby Theiss, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 19 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Layman, who posted nine points and three steals.

Christ Prep Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Wichita Defenders HomeSchool earned a 48-37 win over Reno County HomeSchool on Tuesday.

Christ Prep Academy's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Wichita Defenders HomeSchool, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-10 record this season.
