Baseball Recap: James Lick Takes a Loss

James Lick was the 24-0 winner over San Jose when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The James Lick Comets lost 19-8 to the San Jose Bulldogs on Tuesday. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Antoine Harvey and Juan Ecsoto did some serious damage despite the final result: Harvey scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Ecsoto scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Harvey is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Julion Guzman was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: James Lick kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as San Jose only managed seven hits.

James Lick now has a losing record of 1-2. As for San Jose, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

While James Lick had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
