Winnfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Claiborne Christian Crusaders.

Winnfield's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Claiborne Christian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Winnfield has already played their next contest, a 15-0 loss against Choudrant on the 21st. As for Claiborne Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-0 defeat against Willow on the 21st.
