Basketball Game Preview: Norfolk Catholic Knights vs. Pierce Bluejays

The Norfolk Catholic Knights will face off against the Pierce Bluejays at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Norfolk Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Norfolk Catholic took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 43-33 win over Wayne. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Sidonia Wattier was nothing short of spectacular: she went 8 of 12 en route to 22 points. Those 22 points gave her a new career-high. Mallory Wolf was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Pierce fought the good fight in their overtime match against Cedar Catholic on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 49-48 to the Trojans. While the Bluejays didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Trojans 16-9 in the first quarter.

Pierce's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Norfolk Catholic, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10.
