Baseball Recap: Arp Takes a Loss

Arp managed to slip by West Rusk the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Tigers lost 15-4 to the Raiders on Thursday. The Tigers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Arp got a good showing from Layton Shelburne, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Shelburne has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Arp saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Ponce, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Arp has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15-1 record this season. As for West Rusk, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-12-1 record this season.
