Basketball Recap: Hayes Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westerville South, Hayes was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Dublin Scioto Irish by a score of 44-37. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 42-35 back in January.

Several Irish players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Niah Smedley, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. That's the most boards Smedley has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Evan Rinker, who earned 12 points.

The victory got Hayes back to even at 10-10. As for Dublin Scioto, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Coming up, Hayes will take on New Albany at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dublin Scioto, they will challenge Big Walnut at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
