Baseball Recap: Cranberry Area's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wilmington, Cranberry Area was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the North Clarion Wolves with a sharp 12-2 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Berries considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Hudson Galla made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Cranberry Area is 2-1 when Galla posts two or more runs, but 5-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Connor Morrow was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Blake Marchinke, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Cranberry Area hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Cranberry Area moved to 7-11 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak. As for North Clarion, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

As of now, neither Cranberry Area nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
