Basketball Recap: Savoy Comes Up Short

Savoy came up into this matchup off a tough 31-point loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Fannindel Falcons by a score of 50-47 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Cardinals have suffered since February 13th.

It was another big night for Kalob Runnels, who went 15 for 24 on his way to 40 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals for Fannindel. The match was Runnels' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terren Judkins, who posted two points and four steals.

Savoy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Fannindel, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Savoy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-28 defeat against Winnsboro on the 12th. As for Fannindel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 82-46 loss against Yantis on the 12th.
