Basketball Recap: Espanola Valley Find Success

Espanola Valley won the last time they faced Lovington and things went their way on Saturday too. The Espanola Valley Sundevils narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lovington Wildcats 58-56. That's two games straight that the Sundevils have won by exactly two points.

Despite the loss, Lovington still got an impressive performance from Kayle Covington, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 18 boards. That was a full 51.8% of Lovington's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jojo Perez, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 14 points and five assists.
