Basketball Game Preview: San Diego Cavers vs. Scripps Ranch Falcons

The San Diego Cavers will face off against the Scripps Ranch Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in San Diego's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Scripps Ranch has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.

Last Thursday, San Diego didn't have too much trouble with Patrick Henry as they won 50-35. The Cavers have beaten the Patriots the last six times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Patriots has come to flipping the script.

Pierre Anderson was nothing short of spectacular: he went 6-for-14 to rack up 16 points and four steals. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Isaiah Marte was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Scripps Ranch lost to St. Augustine at home by a 77-58 margin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Saints are ranked 121st).

Scripps Ranch's loss dropped their record down to 8-19. As for San Diego, their victory bumped their record up to 23-5.

San Diego couldn't quite finish off Scripps Ranch when the teams last played back in January of 2022 and fell 42-39. Thankfully for San Diego, Caden Flint (who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 16 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
