Basketball Game Preview: South Whidbey Falcons vs. La Conner Braves

The South Whidbey Falcons will venture away from home to square off against the La Conner Braves at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in South Whidbey's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.

While South Whidbey didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They claimed a resounding 60-18 victory over Tyee. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 76 points the game before, La Conner was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They were beaten by Lakewood 77-27. The Braves have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

South Whidbey's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for La Conner, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-3.

South Whidbey was dealt a bruising 60-23 loss at the hands of La Conner in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can South Whidbey avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
