Basketball Game Preview: Battery Creek Dolphins vs. Hanahan Hawks

The Battery Creek Dolphins will face off against the Hanahan Hawks at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Battery Creek is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Orangeburg-Wilkinson on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Battery Creek came up short against Orangeburg-Wilkinson, falling 56-32. While losing is never fun, the Dolphins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Bruins are ranked 25th).

Meanwhile, Hanahan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by Orangeburg-Wilkinson 72-34. The Hawks were down 58-30 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Hanahan's loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Battery Creek, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-10.

Battery Creek didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hanahan in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 42-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Battery Creek since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
