Football Recap: Brookstone Beats First Presbyterian Day for Their Third Straight Victory + How To Watch

Brookstone had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the First Presbyterian Day Vikings by a score of 13-0 on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Cougars, who have now won three games in a row.

Brookstone's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Broughton Branch, who threw for 111 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. What's more, Branch racked up 133.1 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August. Sammie Laboy was Branch's top target, picking up 34 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 43 yards.

Brookstone didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Colton Jordan and Frankie Bickerstaff.

Brookstone's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for First Presbyterian Day, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.

Coming up, Brookstone will square off against Stratford Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Cougars will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups. First Presbyterian Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
