Basketball Recap: Mt. Carmel Comes Up Short

Mt. Carmel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 46-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Teutopolis Wooden Shoes. The Golden Aces were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wooden Shoes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

When it comes to explaining why Mt. Carmel lost, don't look at Maycee Randall. Despite the final result, she went 6-for-8 on her way to 15 points and eight rebounds. Randall is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 12 games she's played dating back to last season. Alivia Peach was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Mt. Carmel's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Teutopolis, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Looking ahead, Mt. Carmel will be taking part in a tournament against Lawrenceville at 10:45 a.m. on Friday. Teutopolis has already played their next matchup (against Salem), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
