Baseball Recap: Champion Has No Trouble Against Liberty

Champion never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Liberty Leopards as they made off with a 10-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Golden Flashes have won by exactly ten runs.

The team relied heavily on Bradey Quinby, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Hixson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

Champion was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Champion's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Liberty, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Champion will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Leopards: the pair will be back at it again later today.
