Football Recap: Fort Wayne South Side Falls to Marion in First Game of Season

Fort Wayne South Side had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 48-42 to the Marion Giants. The Archers were up 21-7 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Timotheus Jones went supernova For Marion., rushing for 143 yards, while also throwing for 137 yards and two TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. Their leading receiver Logan Barnes was Jones' top target yet again, picking up 68 receiving yards and one score.

Coming up, Fort Wayne South Side will welcome South Bend Saint Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marion, they will hit the road for the first time this season to take on Mississinewa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
