Football Recap: Loyola College Prep's Undefeated Season over After Nine Games

If Loyola College Prep was feeling good fresh off their 54-26 takedown of Booker T. Washington-Shreveport last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Flyers took a 63-49 bruising from the North DeSoto Griffins on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Flyers in their meetings with the Griffins: they've now lost four in a row.

Despite the loss, Loyola College Prep still got an impressive performance from Bryce Restovich, who threw for 403 yards and five touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. Restovich has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last eight times he's played. Jake Black was in the mix too, providing Loyola College Prep with two TDs.

North DeSoto's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kenny Thomas, who rushed for 276 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per carry. Those 276 rushing yards gave Thomas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Delafield, who threw for 216 yards and three TDs while completing 75% of his passes.

Having lost for the first time this season, Loyola College Prep fell to 8-1. As for North DeSoto, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Loyola College Prep is set to take on their familiar foe Northwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,029 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, North DeSoto will square off against rival Bossier at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
