Baseball Recap: Masuk Victorious

Masuk never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Stratford Red Devils, sneaking past 1-0. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Red Devils recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Masuk got a great performance from Justin Fanning as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Fanning has posted since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Masuk's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Chris Welch, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Masuk's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Stratford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4-1.

Looking ahead, Masuk will face off against New Fairfield at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Rebels will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stratford, they will challenge Brookfield at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season.
