Basketball Game Preview: Olathe North Eagles vs. Olathe South Falcons

An exciting North v. South battle is about to be fought. The Olathe North Eagles will host the Olathe South Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Olathe North is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their match on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 61-12 win over Lawrence Free State. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while the Firebirds are ranked 300th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Olathe South came tearing into Tuesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Lancers with points to spare, taking the game 45-29.

Olathe South's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Olathe North, their win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-4.

Olathe North came up short against Olathe South in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 48-36. Can Olathe North avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
