Brother Rice and Providence Catholic are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Crusaders are taking a road trip to challenge the Celtics at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brother Rice is coming into the match hot, having won their last 23 games.

Brother Rice came out on top against Loyola Academy on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run second inning. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Ramblers with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Crusaders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Danny Sheehan's shutout, as he gave up just five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jackson Natanek was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Gavin Triezenberg was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Providence Catholic ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Chicago Mt. Carmel 7-6. The Celtics haven't had any issues with the Caravan recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Brother Rice pushed their record up to 24-1 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Providence Catholic, their record is now 17-9.
