Baseball Recap: St. Dominic Extends Winning Streak to Four

The matchup between St. Dominic and Kellenberg Memorial on Wednesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Bayhawks were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Firebirds. The win was familiar territory for the Bayhawks, who have now won four matchups in a row.

Ray Kim made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since April 5th. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Cristian Moreno was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Chris Vangelatos was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.

St. Dominic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .469. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

St. Dominic's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Kellenberg Memorial, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Dominic will square off against Xaverian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Kellenberg Memorial, they will head out to square off against Chaminade at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
