Basketball Game Preview: Scurry-Rosser Wildcats vs. Grandview Zebras

The Scurry-Rosser Wildcats are taking a road trip to take on the Grandview Zebras at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Scurry-Rosser took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-24 win over Keene. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Chargers are ranked 403rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grandview). They claimed a resounding 89-61 victory over Blooming Grove. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Zebras.

Scurry-Rosser pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Grandview, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-14.

Scurry-Rosser was able to grind out a solid win over Grandview in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 63-51. Will Scurry-Rosser repeat their success, or does Grandview have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
