Basketball Game Preview: Winneconne Wolves vs. Mayville Cardinals

Having just played yesterday, the Winneconne Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Mayville Cardinals at 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday. Winneconne knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Mayville likes a good challenge.

In Monday's Canine Competition, Winneconne didn't have enough. They took a blow against New London on Monday, falling 89-61.

Meanwhile, Mayville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 60-55 to Lomira. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Winneconne dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for Mayville, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Winneconne couldn't quite finish off Mayville when the teams last played back in February and fell 60-57. Can Winneconne avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
