Basketball Game Preview: Summertown Eagles vs. Battle Creek Grizzlies

The Summertown Eagles will face off against the Battle Creek Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Summertown will be strutting in after a victory while Battle Creek will be coming in after a loss.

Summertown is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Spring Hill: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Summertown blew Spring Hill out of the water with a 57-15 final score. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Summertown got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Abbie Shaffer out in front who posted 14 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ella Busby, who had six points in addition to six boards and five steals.

Meanwhile, Battle Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by Lawrence County 86-16.

Summertown's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.2 points. As for Battle Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
