Portland Adventist Academy had won five straight games and Dane Petersen did his part to make it six on Thursday. The Portland Adventist Academy Cougars snuck past the Horizon Christian Hawks with an 83-79 win thanks in part to Petersen, who dropped a double-double on 36 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Portland Adventist Academy's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Martin Villa, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 17 boards. What's more, he also racked up three blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2023.

Portland Adventist Academy pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Horizon Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9.

Coincidentally, Portland Adventist Academy and Horizon Christian will both be playing Westside Christian the next time they take the court. Portland Adventist Academy will host Westside Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Horizon Christian will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
