Baseball Recap: East Iberville Has No Trouble Against North Iberville

The East Iberville Tigers got the win against the North Iberville Bears on Monday by a conclusive 19-5. Considering the Tigers have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Noah Cushenberry was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has become a key player for East Iberville: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Melancon, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

East Iberville's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8. As for North Iberville, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. East Iberville will square off against rival Ascension Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, North Iberville is set to take on their familiar foe White Castle at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
