Marion pushed their record up to 8-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs per game. As for Conway, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.

Marion came out on top in a nail-biter against Conway in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, sneaking past 6-4. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Conway's Lily James, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (she also didn't allow any walks). Now that she won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Marion to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
