Softball Game Preview: Wooster Generals vs. Mansfield Senior Tygers

The Wooster Generals will face off against the Mansfield Senior Tygers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wooster will be strutting in after a victory while Mansfield Senior will be coming in after a loss.

Wooster barely beat Smithville the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Generals' pitchers stepped up to hand the Smithies an 11-0 shutout on Monday. The contest marked the Generals' most dominant win of the season.

Emily Boyd was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kiara Hanna, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Wooster was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Smithville only posted a batting average of .227.

Meanwhile, Mansfield Senior was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They lost 16-0 to Lexington.

Mansfield Senior's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Wooster, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-19.
