Basketball Recap: Mitchell Takes a Loss

Mitchell was the 68-51 winner over Eastern Greene when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bluejackets fell 64-53 to the Thunderbirds on Saturday.

Coby Sykes went supernova For Eastern Greene., almost dropping a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. The game was Sykes' third in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Deckard, who posted 12 points.

Mitchell now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Eastern Greene, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Mitchell will challenge Springs Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastern Greene, they will square off against Sullivan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
