Volleyball Recap: Peyton Naslund and Maggie Andrews Secure Win for Nucla

Nucla lost to Norwood back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Mustangs put the hurt on the Mavericks with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

While Nucla won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-23, 25-19.

Leading Nucla to victory were Maggie Andrews and Peyton Naslund. Andrews had 11 digs and one assist, while Naslund had 14 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Naslund has posted since back in September.

They weren't the only good servers: Nucla was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. They are a perfect 5-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Nucla's record is now 11-8. As for Norwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Nucla has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Plateau Valley on the 18th. As for Norwood, they will face off against Ouray at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
