Baseball Recap: Gilroy Mustangs vs. Lynbrook Vikings

Gilroy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They blew past the Lynbrook Vikings 14-1 on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row dating back to last season.

Jared Nelson was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Nelson was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Brennan Neander and Cameron Hilton did most of the damage at the plate: Neander went 3-for-4 with five RBI and two runs, while Hilton scored three runs while going 3-for-3.
