Softball Recap: Butte Central Catholic Maroons vs. Beaverhead County Beavers
Butte Central Catholic had lost four straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-7 to make it five. They came up short against the Beaverhead County Beavers, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Beavers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-7 two weeks ago.
As for Beaverhead County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.
For Beaverhead County's part, Tymber Barnes was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Barnes was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Beaverhead County let Kinzy Creighton and Kylie Konen run wild. Creighton went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Konen went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that Creighton has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Bailey Blake, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
