Basketball Recap: Akeem Smith and Miles Cooper Secure Win for College Park

College Park won the last time they faced Concord and things went their way on Monday too. The College Park Falcons strolled past the Concord Bears with points to spare, taking the game 66-47. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Bears are ranked 1032nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

College Park was led to victory by Miles Cooper and Akeem Smith. Cooper posted 19 points and three steals, while Smith had 16 points. Those 16 points gave Smith a new career-high. Steven Barnett was another key player, putting up four points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Despite the loss, Concord still got an impressive performance from Leonidas Garcia, who went 8 for 11 en route to 20 points.

College Park has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. As for Concord, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-12.

College Park has already played their next match, a 64-44 win against Berean Christian on the 15th. As for Concord, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-35 victory against Mt. Diablo on the 15th.
