Baseball Recap: Virginia Episcopal School Find Success

Virginia Episcopal School was not the first on the board on Saturday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out the Christchurch School Seahorses 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bishops have posted since May 3, 2024.

Campbell Howard was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Howard wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jack Mitchell, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Jaxon Godsie also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Virginia Episcopal School now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Christchurch School, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Virginia Episcopal School will welcome The Covenant at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bishops' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Christchurch School, they will host Catholic at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
