Basketball Recap: Bethune Comes Up Short

Bethune played a tough match on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Kit Carson Wildcats, falling 48-16. The Bobcats have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Paulina Reyes was Bethune's leading scorer, having posted six points. Jamie Strobel held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.

Kit Carson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shay Rady, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 14 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Avery Johnson was another key player, going 5-for-8 on her way to 14 points and three steals.

Bethune's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Kit Carson, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.

Coming up, Bethune will face off against Weldon Valley at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Kit Carson has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
